Volunteer program offering free eye exams and glasses for public school students

A volunteer program of the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s College of Public Health has been performing free eye exams and providing free glasses to children from Central Park Elementary School in Omaha from a OneSight Vision Van parked out front. The eye exams out of this van include eye charts to check visual acuity and devices to measure internal eye fluid pressure and needed correction.

As far as technology has come with optometry over the years, there is always room for improvement, and new technology is always being discovered and introduced into the industry. If you have ever been to an eye doctor, you are most likely pretty familiar with the big clunky machine that is used to have patients peer through and read a chart of letters that decrease in size.
